Genesis, along with King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, were on of the batch of legendary progressive rock bands to come out of England in the Late 60's and early 70's
Headed by Peter Gabriel they became well known for the lengthy musical pieces based around the fairy tale and fantasy lyrics of Gabriel and their
distinctive album Covers. Like most progressive rock bands they went through a series of line up changes that saw Phil Collins become their second drummer who eventually went on to replace Peter Gabriel as front man an lead vocalist
